David Gibbens, Director, Poole Waterfield had the pleasure of attending the annual Hawkins Hatton Corporate Lawyers function, held at Weston Park on 5th March 2015.

The event named, 'Cutting the Cards' was themed around global economic threats to UK plc and how these might impact on growth and exports. A champagne reception helped the conversation flow, putting all things to rights from Rugby to Real Ale. The night continued with an impressive dinner followed by drinks in a fantastic library room.

The night stimulated a lot of debate over dinner on the questions of how UK plc can avoid the global threats it is likely to face during the year ahead. In addition, an excellent speech from Colin Rodrigues provoked interesting discussion on wider economic issues.

David commented, "As a regular attendee at this annual event, this years' 'Cutting the Cards' dinner did not disappoint; with excellent food, company and surroundings. It offered the opportunity to discuss key issues with peers and on reflection gives valuable food for thought within our own and clients' businesses. Well done to all involved."
